Bl. Florida Cevoli (1685-1767)
Florida was born in Pisa on November 11, 1685 to a noble family. She joined the Clare Capuchins in the year 1703, becoming the best disciple and friend of St. Veronica Giuliani, whom she succeeded as abbess. Distinguished herself for her spirit of prayer, her immersion in simple and daily tasks of community life, her extraordinary charismas, and for the impulse she gave her order in the faithful observance of the Rule. Died on June 12, 1767 in Città di Castello (Perusa). John Paul II made her blessed-on May 16, 1993.
