On the VIII centenary of the birth of St. Francis, for the first time in Mexico, a large part of the Franciscan family gathered, and as a result of this encounter, on October 3, 1981, the desire to integrate Francis’s and Clare’s Spirituality in Mexico is born in the heart of some of the main Superiors.
On May 1st,1985, in the Conferencia de Institutos Religiosos de Mexico (Religious Institutes of Mexico Conference- CIRM), by initiative of Sister Imelda María Gallegos, General Superior of the HFIC, and Friar Salvador García Pérez. OFM. Proposed a possible meeting of all the Franciscan family with the purpose of mutual support and better service to the Church of Mexico, which was received with much enthusiasm by Friar Francisco Jiménez, OFM Cap. The spirit of service, modesty, simplicity, minority, and above all, Christian and brotherly love in the permanent dialogue, allows us a true spiritual renovation which takes us to a profound Franciscan participation and communion.
