Professed Capuchin Brother born to a peasant family in Romania, and in his youth, emigrated to Naples (Italy). The virtues learned at home were built upon during his long religious life in his position as nurse, in which he lavished his dedication, warmth and love to the weakest and helpless. He died in Naples on March 5, 1625, victim of charity and obedience when visiting an ailing person in the Toer of Greco. Loved by both Orthodox and Catholics, the humble Capuchin brother is today glory and hope for him country. Was made blessed by John Paul II on October 30, 1983 and is the first Romanian to be elevated to the honor of the altars.
