Last Wednesday, January 19, the Provincial Custody of Mexico and Texas of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin celebrated 75 years of continuous presence in Mexico. After nine days of making a historical and geographical tour of our current presences, we were able to reach the culmination of these days of virtual meeting, in which we were able to meet as brothers through social networks.
The central Eucharistic celebration of these festivities took place in the fraternity of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Pío, located south of Mexico City, which was presided over by Monsignor Carlos Enrique Samaniego López, vicar of Religious Life in the Archdiocese of Mexico. . In an emotional concelebrated celebration, the brothers participated: Aldo Muñóz, Provincial Custodian of Mexico and Texas, Francisco José Sadaba, Juan Miguel Subiza, José Luis Ríos, Eusebio Hernandez, Pablo Jaramillo and Constantino Alonso.
During the homily Mons. Samaniego invited us to walk in line with the new evangelization through the missionary path that we have received within the Church, as an extension of the presence of Christ who wants to be in every corner. At the end of the Eucharist he reminded us of the important task in our present reality of being instruments of peace.
Grateful for this time of evangelical life in these Mexican lands, we praise and bless God for the lives of so many Spanish, German and Mexican missionary brothers who have given their lives to the construction of the Kingdom of God; may he continue to grant us holy vocations to our way of life. Peace and good.
