It is an opportunity for all of us to foster our ecological conversion by listening and responding together to the cry of creation. This time will take place throughout the Church from September 1 to October 4. A time that begins on the "World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation" and closes on the Day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of ecology. This year's theme is "Listening to the Voice of Creation".
On the 28th of this month at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the fraternity of St. Anthony of Padua we celebrated the Eucharist to give thanks for the gift of life and vocation. In it, with a simple rite where the young men ask for the entrance to the postulancy and later they are given the Bible and the tau, the postulancy began for the six new brothers.
Twenty-five years ago, in 1997, the Capuchin friars arrived on August 11 in La Piedad, Mich. where the fraternity of St. Anthony of Padua was canonically erected as the Novitiate of the then Delegation. Dear Brothers, May the Lord give you peace!
These days, the media around the world are constantly reporting the tragic event of the war against Ukraine. What we see transpiring in this neighboring country is an act of violence that we would hope never to see happen, because it brings about nothing but great pain: people dying, structures being destroyed, families being left homeless, society as a whole experiencing fear and bewilderment, while supplanting in people’s hearts uncertainty and despair in the place of peace.

Dear Brothers, greetings to you!
Lately, there’ve been many occasions in which I find myself in front of a camera in order to reach out and be present to everyone. We met with the friars of America, with the friars from India, with the friars of Europe, with the Italian friars. In short, there were many occasions due to the pandemic that have forced us to stay put and reach out to each other only through these means. Although this is a more traditional occasion, it is always very important to be able to reach out and communicate with one another, and I now desire to wish everyone well for this approaching Christmas.
