The Order of Minor Capuchin Brothers joins with reverent heart Pope Francis and the entire Church in the celebration of the Holy Year of Jubilee 2025, a time of grace that invites us to a profound encounter with God, to reconciliation with our brothers and with the creation itself. It is a call to open our hearts and allow ourselves to be transformed by the infinite mercy of our Father.
The theme of this Jubilee, “Pilgrims of Hope”, resonates deeply in our spirits. In a world full of pain, suffering and hopelessness, we are called to be witnesses of a hope that does not fade, but is strengthened in faith and trust in the Lord. By following Christ, especially in his Paschal Mystery, we join the path of the cross that leads to the resurrection, knowing that in Him life always conquers death, light dissipates darkness.
Pope Francis invites us to keep the flame of hope burning, looking to the future with a trusting heart and renewed faith. It calls us to look at the future not with fear, but with the certainty that, in Christ, rebirth is possible. This Jubilee is a divine opportunity to restore peace, heal wounds and restore justice in the world, so that we live as authentic bearers of the hope that is Christ.
We, the Minor Capuchin Brothers, welcome this Jubilee with a prayerful, penitent and available spirit. In each step of our pilgrimage, we join in the pain of the most needy, the suffering, those who live on the margins, because we know that in them we find the very face of Christ. We follow the example of Saint Francis, who taught us to live in total surrender, trusting in God’s providence and being instruments of his peace.
May this time of grace encourage us to renew our vocation, to walk with young people in building a future full of hope, and to live a deep process of conversion, always opening our hearts more to the will of God. May the grace of this Jubilee transform us, and may our Capuchin life be, above all, a continuous prayer and a testimony of love and mercy.
In this Holy Year, may the light of Christ, true hope, guide us on our pilgrimage, strengthening us to be faithful messengers of his peace, his love and his resurrection.
