Vocation that flourishes in Mexico and Texas

On July 4th, our fraternity of the Capuchin Younger Brothers was dressed up for a party and thanksgiving. With a heart overflowing with joy, we witnessed how the Lord continues to call and support young people willing to live the form of the Holy Gospel in our lands of Mexico and Texas.

In the same celebration, the Church and the Order were enriched by contemplating three moments of the same vocation, reflecting the fidelity of God and the generosity of our brothers.

Three moments, a single surrender to the Gospel

Capuchin life is a continuous path of configuration with Christ, in the style of St. Francis of Assisi. This path was beautifully visible through different stages:

  • The “Yes” for life. Solemn Profession: Brother Ignacio took the definitive step by consecrating his life forever to the service of God and the brothers. With his Solemn Profession, he perpetually joins our brotherhood, committing himself to live in obedience, without his own and in chastity. Praise God for his perseverance and generosity!
  • First formal steps. Temporary Profession: The joy multiplied with the first Temporary Profession of the brothers Alejandro and José Ángel. After concluding their noviciate stage, they have formally received the habit of testing and actively join the mission, starting their vows for a fixed time with the desire to continue maturing their response to the Lord.
  • Rekindling the flame. Renewal of Votes: Finally, the brothers Ricardo Enrique and José Manuel renewed their temporary vows. This liturgical gesture reminds us all that the call of the Lord is answered day by day, reaffirming the desire to walk in the footsteps of Jesus with renewed enthusiasm.

A gratitude that crosses borders. Our mission in Mexico and Texas is spiritually nourished by all of you. We don’t walk alone; we do it supported by the ecclesial community that surrounds us and encourages us.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We want to express our deepest gratitude to each of you who continue to accompany us with your prayer, your affection and your closeness. His intercession is vital so that we can live faithfully the charisma that God has entrusted to us, being faces of peace, minority and fraternity in today’s world. Let’s continue praying together for Brother Ignacio, Alejandro, José Ángel, Ricardo Enrique and José Manuel. May the Good Lord, by the hand of the Virgin Mary and our Seraphic Father Saint Francis, fill you with blessings and grant you the grace of daily fidelity.
