Bl. Honorato of Biala Podlaska (1829-1916)
October 14
Blessed Honorato, born and deceased in Poland declared himself and atheist in his youth, yet grave setbacks gave him back his faith. He became a Capuchin and was ordained priest. From then on, he devoted himself to preaching, administering the sacrament of penitence and to spiritual guidance; he founded numerous congregations, forerunners of the Secular Institutes. He was very active man, sustained by an intense inner life. In the last years of his life, afflicted with deafness, he dedicated himself, with more zeal, to prayer and epistolary apostolate. Was made blessed by John Paul II in 1988.
